Since the end of the COVID pandemic, travelers and tourists have been flocking to trains, planes, and automobiles to release their pent-up wanderlust. That makes keeping highways and runways open year-round and in all sorts of weather.
And that’s where work trucks from O.J. Watson Equipment shine.
DEN Depends on Us
We can’t control the weather, but when Nature throws air travelers curveballs, O.J. Watson Equipment specializes in trucks and equipment to handle snow and ice control for airport runways, taxiways, and aprons.
Covering more square miles than San Francisco or Boston, Denver International Airport (DEN) has 33 miles of runways and taxiways comprising 6 million square yards of concrete. There’s an 11-mile freeway connecting it to the surrounding metro area and 23 football fields worth of parking. So when it snows, there’s a lot of the white stuff to move. And with a quarter million people depending on the airport for work and travel every day, it needs to be moved quickly. That’s why we’re proud to be the supplier of much of Denver International’s 270-vehicle snow and ice removal equipment fleet.
Road Warriors Need Us Too
Whether it’s skiers and shredders heading to the slopes, families going away for visits or vacations, or drivers of big rigs hauling goods to keep shelves and warehouses stocked, keeping roads and highways clear of ice and snow is crucial.
Many of the same heavy-duty snow and ice removal equipment used at airports also sees duty on our streets and roadways. Lighter-duty plows and sanders are used for residential streets and parking lots, equipment that’s also available from O.J. Waston.
We Know Snow
O.J. Watson Equipment specializes in trucks and equipment to handle snow and ice control from the smallest lots to major highways and airport runways in some of the worst conditions imaginable. We design central hydraulic systems that operate in conjunction with the latest, most sophisticated snow and ice removal equipment to operate snowblowers, plows, sanders, deicers, and snow disposal vehicles that keep airports and roadways safe and clear year-round.
The kings of the road (and runway) are heavy-duty truck bodies with Oshkosh dual-engine blowers that can throw as much as 5,000 tons of snow an hour as far as 200 feet making them the ultimate solution to airport and highway snow removal. The blowers are synched to the truck wheels to allow the drivers to concentrate on the path ahead, adding a large measure of safety to hazardous operating conditions.
We don’t overlook the small stuff, either. From plows and sweepers designed to clear tight streets and spaces to easily attached pickup-mounted blades, we have the trucks to do the job quickly and efficiently.
