Residents of South Boulder County are ready and eager to rebuild after a devastating fire swept through the communities of Superior and Louisville on December 30, 2021.

Less than six months after the wildfire destroyed over 1,000 homes and businesses, signs of the devastation are being replaced by fresh tracts ready for redevelopment, a remarkable feat made possible by coordinated public/private efforts. Relief agencies, governments, and most importantly, ordinary people stepped up to push the process forward faster than most thought possible.

One example of how well the recovery has gone occurred on June 19, 2022, in the Sagamore neighborhood of Superior where all 171 homes were lost to the Marshall fire. The community came together to celebrate the end of the cleanup and the start of rebuilding.

Heavy Equipment Plays a Big Role
